The Hub

This section of the website is aimed at everyone who contributes to the creation of EHRxF. In The Hub, you will find backgrounds, announcements, reports and news.

The European Electronic Health Record exchange Format (EHRxF) is being discussed and developed in preparation of the publication and entry into force of the European Health Data Space regulation.

Key documents from the European Commission on the European Electronic Health Record exchange Format:

The European Electronic Health Record exchange Format is based on a number of (industry) standards for the exchange of personal electronic health data, as developed, published, and maintained by Standards Developing Organisations (SDOs) including ISO/TC 215, CEN/TC 251, HL7 International, HL7 Europe, IHE International, IHE Europe, and SNOMED International. Together, these SDOs are committed to support the implementation and extension of the European EHRxF through a series of projects. The xShare project, in particular, is committed to the formation of the European EHRxF Standards and Policy Hub – a neutral and supportive environment to make sure that industry efforts, specific implementation programmes and projects, as well as other EHRxF related projects, are aligned with the EHDS regulation, the European EHRxF, and the underlying standards. Through the SDOs and others participating in the Hub, the European EHRxF is expected to influence the further development of global standards, effectively providing the groundwork for a global EHRxF.
