European Standards for Health Interoperability Alliance (ESHIA)
Powering the Future of Health Data Interoperability in Europe
The European Standards for Health Interoperability Alliance (ESHIA) is a newly established membership organisation accelerating Europe’s journey towards a connected health ecosystem. Founded in Brussels and backed by Europe’s leading standards development organisations, stakeholder groups, and competence centres, ESHIA supports the implementation of the European Health Data Space (EHDS) in practice, contributing to a future where health data flow securely and seamlessly to improve care, accelerate research, and unlock value through innovation enabled by the EEHRxF.
ESHIA is the trusted home of the EEHRxF Standards and Policy Hub, supporting organisation across their EEHRxF journey and providing a structured entry point to specifications, guidance and implementation assets that enable real-world solutions. ESHIA’s mission is to support organisation in leveraging EEHRxF-compliant solutions to improve the delivery and quality of health and care. Interoperability is no longer optional – it is the foundation of digital health in Europe. ESHIA supports Member states, healthcare providers, and industry in moving from compliance to real-world implementation and value-driven innovation, with clarity, collaboration, and confidence.
ESHIA provides:
- A structured entry point to the EEHRxF ecosystem for value creation,
- Continuous engagement with SDOs and experts,
- A pathway from compliance to integration to strategic value,
- Support for both practical implementation and active participation in the ecosystem.
