Adopting EHRxF – X-Bundle Registry and other sources

This section provides a collection of references, documentation, and external links related to interoperability assets supporting the European Health Data Space (EHDS) and the European Electronic Health Record Exchange Format (EEHRxF) meant to enable secure, seamless, and cross-border exchange of health data across Europe.

These resources are essential for developers, healthcare providers, policymakers, and stakeholders working towards greater health data interoperability in line with EU regulations.

X-Bundle Registry

An X-Bundle is a structured aggregation of assets and artefacts designed to facilitate interoperability within and between health systems particularly based on European EHRxF (Electronic Health Record Exchange Format) specifications and covering a set of selected Health Information Domains (HID), aligned with the priority categories of personal health data as defined by art 14 of the EHDS regulation, hereafter indicated as priority domains. To fulfill its scope, an X-Bundle should be:

    • Scalable: Capable of growing and adapting to meet evolving interoperability needs.
    • Reusable: Designed for application across various use cases and scenarios.
    • Searchable: Easily navigable to locate specific assets and artifacts.
    • Relationship-Driven: Able to support the management of relationships between assets, ensuring seamless interoperability.
    1. Specifications – the detailed specifications on how interoperability (at all levels of the ReEIF) is to be achieved for the business use case at hand.
    2. Tools – tools for developing and testing compliant software components for interoperability, including a sandbox with terminology services, test data, and (open source) reference implementations.
    3. Supporting materials – materials to support the adoption of the digital health innovation in real-world healthcare practice, including educational material, maturity questionnaires, and adoption roadmaps.

    Business Use Case Repository

As part of xShare, the Business Use Case Repository was created to collect, organise, and maintain all use cases developed within the project. It serves as a living resource for stakeholders, providing detailed examples of how xShare solutions — including the Yellow Button — can be applied in real-world settings. The repository supports transparency, fosters knowledge sharing, and ensures that use cases are easily accessible and updated every six months.

    Xt-EHR Artefacts

      EHDS logical information models

The informaton models, developed by Xt-EHR, are formal representations of the relevant healthcare concepts. These function as the basis for the development of the European EHRxF.

       Xt-EHR Metadata Standards

The metadata foundation from Xt-EHR describes how data elements are defined, and defines some of the common data data elements

This overview will be expanded upon during the further development of this website.
